Whisky Distilleries of Scotland Map

Whisky Distilleries of Scotland Map

Print design for a map of the whisky distilleries of Scotland... new and old.

A comprehensive map of existing (and some retired) whisky distilleries of Scotland.

I love maps. I always have, and always will. When I was a kid, I’d spend a great deal of time looking through the pages of my parent’s giant world atlas book from the early ’70s. I was fascinated by the colours, the details, the way all the info was organized, even the smell. I loved drawing my own maps as well. Perhaps I was a cartographer in another life. In any case, maps are still important to me and I felt the need to create something of my own that others may enjoy as well.

I painstakingly stitched together dozens and dozens of high-res scans to form the antique map of Scotland seen here in the year 1751. I then plotted whisky distilleries grouped by scotch-making regions: Campbeltown; Highland, Islands; Islay; Lowland; and Speyside.
